ROATAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (RTB)
Roatan International Airport is located on the South West part of the island only minutes from popular West End, West Bay and 15 minutes from Pristine Bay Resort & The Black Pearl Golf Course.
RIA is a relatively small airport but home to some big names such as Continental, Delta and Taca airlines.
It is quite understood that the island is growing along with the airline traffic so until an expansion takes place, hopefully in the coming year or so, Passport control maybe a little slow. Your luggage will be found on conveyor belts only a short distance away. Once luggage is collected it will need to be placed through the xray machine at the customs point just before exiting the arrival gate. All of this takes place in one large area.
When leaving the island, Saturday is currently our busiet day so you my wish to arrive early for the morning flights. It is possible to check in up to 24 hours in advance for the main airlines. Exit taxes are approximately $35.00 per person - Cash Only (No Credit Cards Accepted).

Hotwire

Continental airlines offers direct flights to Roatan from their hub in Houston approximately 2 hour flight. Currently there are flights on Thursday, Friday, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. It has been rumored that there will be direct flights all week long this coming year except Tuesdays. All flights are on 737's.
Delta Airlines offers two flights per week directly from their hub in Atlanta, approximately 2.5 hours away. Delta flies on Thursdays and Saturdays. This location has been a great hub for East coast travellers. It is expected that more flights will be added in 2010.
TACA Airlines is a Latin American airline offering direct flights to Roatan for many years. Taca also has direct flights from Houston most days of the week. Taca has international daily flights landing on mainland Honduras from Miami, Atalnata and Houston and other locations. It is relatively easy to book s shuttle flights to Roatan if the mainland route serves you better.
Sunwing is a charter airline for the all inclusive resort business here on the island of Roatan. Sunwing started their flights in December 2009 arriving on Mondays from 3 different locations for use of several all inclusive resorts.
